Abstract

Occupational safety is defined as a condition that is free from the risk of accident or damage. The performance of an employee plays an important role for an organization, because the low performance of employees in an organization can result in an organization being hampered in achieving its goals. A safe and comfortable work environment is the hope for every employee when carrying out their duties and responsibilities at work. PT. Sumber Marine Shipyard Batam, the company shows seriousness in terms of occupational safety and health (K3) management by showing appreciation for the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system (SMK3) as evidenced by the ISO 45001-2018 certificate. The research method used is quantitative method. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the results of the t test obtained information that the independent variables of the safety management system simultaneously had no positive and significant effect on employee performance. The magnitude of the influence of the safety management system variable simultaneously does not affect employee performance, namely tcount = 0.487 < ttable = 2.86 with a significant level of 0.632 > 0.05, then H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected.
